Zelophehad’s Zinger
Ep. 238 - Pinchas with Rabbi Naamah Kelman:
Start off with ½ oz lemon juice, because this whole thing starts off in a pretty sour place. Next, let’s calm down with 1 ½ oz rye. Add in 2 oz ginger beer for Zelophehad and a spoonful of blueberry preserves for his daughters. I used Bonne Maman Wild Blueberry Preserves, because it’s my favorite, but do what you want.
For a non-alcoholic ZZ Top — just kidding, Zelophehad’s Zinger — use 2 oz lemonade in place of the lemon juice and rye.
Stir it all up with ice and garnish with a sprig of spearmint, because something needs to get stabbed with a spear for Parashat Pinchas.
You’re going to love this, and your daughters will too. L’chayim!
