Idol Smash

Ep. 239 - Vaetchanan with Sasha Kopp:

We’ll start off with 3 idols — I mean, lemon wedges — in a shaker. Muddle those up with a muddler to fulfill the commandment of Deuteronomy 7:5: SMASH THOSE IDOLS. And that’s why it’s called the Idol Smash.

Next up, pour in 2 oz bourbon, ¾ oz simple syrup, and 3 mint leaves and shake with ice. Strain over fresh ice and garnish with a mint sprig and 10 — yes, you are commanded to count them out — 10 pomegranate seeds for the 10 commandments.

For a non-alcoholic version, swap out the bourbon for 2 oz apple cider.

We hope you enjoy this iconoclastic cocktail. L’chayim!
