Priests’ Passionate Puritini

From Episode 226 - Metzora with Rachel Weiss:

It’s never an easy trek to go outside the camp and then have to turn around and guide someone back on the return trek—a priest can get thirsty! And so for all of you compassionate kohanim (that’s a priestly language for you!) we present The Priest’s Passionate Purity-ni.

You may have noticed that last week’s drink for Tazria was also a puritini, but since these two portions are usually paired together, we thought we’d give you an excellent party duo for years to come!

Take 4 oz of passionfruit juice (for the two steps out of the camp and the two back in), 2 oz of gin (one for the priest and one for the returning metzora), 1 oz of fresh lime juice, and a few ice cubes for a refreshing cooling off period. We suggest a pink gin that also has a hint of raspberry and strawberry in it like Gordon’s Premium Distilled Gin for a little extra fun. That’s not a paid advertisement, it’s just a fun thing.

For a non-alcoholic version, swap out the gin with 2 oz lime seltzer.

Stir it all together to cool it off and strain into TWO martini glasses, one for you, and one for your friend coming back into the camp. Garnish with a lime wheel or a strawberry or both as you prefer. Drink up and toast to your trek partner—the priests and people alike will be clamoring for this particular passionate pink drink!
