Muddled Message
Ep. 234 - Sh’lach L’cha with Lt. Matt Derenbacher:
We’re starting with blueberries for the blue fringe. In a glass, ten blueberries for the ten spies who were less-than-supportive of God’s plan. For Caleb and Joshua, two lime wedges. Gather up a handful of mint — maybe ten leaves (just don’t go collecting on shabbat) — and muddle all of that together with 2 tsp sugar, releasing and mixing the sweet and sour flavors and fully dissolving the sugar in the juices. Stir in 2 oz white rum and then pour over ice. Top it all off with an ounce of club soda.
For a non-alcoholic Muddled Message, skip the rum and soda, topping off your muddled mixture with 3 oz ginger ale.
For garnish, a few extra blueberries for the grapes the scouts brought back and a lime wheel for the sun rising on a new chapter in the journey of the Israelites.
