Forefathers’ Float
From Episode I: Lech L’chah with Rabbi Michael Namath:
In celebration of our father Abraham and the founding fathers of American democracy, we are thrilled to share with you, the forefathers’ float.
Take a pint glass — or a soda-fountain-style-glass, or a beer stein, or whatever you want, you do you — and add a half-oz of your favorite coffee liqueur and two scoops of vanilla ice cream. I recommend Breyers. They’re not sponsoring us and that has nothing to do with the Torah portion, it’s just a classic. Slowly pour in a Sam Adams Cream Stout. You can optionally top with unsweetened whipped cream and grated dark chocolate. Garnish with a sparkler and as many star-shaped sprinkles as there are in the heavens, if you can count them.
For a non-alcoholic version, omit the coffee liqueur and replace the Sam Adams with a Root Beer -- I recommend Dr. Browns; again, not a product placement, just a Jewish classic.
Make a plan — vote. And l’chayim!
