Decalogue Daiquiri

From Episode 215 - Yitro with Jon Adam Ross:

Definitely one to make for Shabbat, because remember that Shabbat is a thing. That’s in this week’s portion. Remember that.

First things first, grab a blender. Second, plug it in. You’re doing great! Here are ten ingredients for your Decalogue Daiquiri:

Add in ¾ cup frozen blueberries — but make sure they’re yours and you haven’t stolen them. Next 1 tbsp of honey to remind you to be sweet to your parents. Okay? Good. Next ½ oz lime juice to remind you to watch those zingers because we’re not allowed to disrespect God. For real. I mean it. Next up 1.5 oz light rum, which we’d truly testify will make this drink delicious (but also can be replaced with 1.5 oz limeade for an equally delicious mocktail). No lies here, because we’re bringing in 1 oz lemonade (that one’s a nod to Queen Bey, but even she doesn’t make God status),  1 oz water (hydrate or die-drate people, and no murdering!), and 6 mint leaves (to freshen your breath for “appropriate” sexual relations). Add in ¼ cup of ice to remember that G-d is pretty cool (as it is written, “What’s cooler than being cool? Ice cold”).

Blend all of those until smooth.

That’s eight and I know what you’re thinking—we’re done. WRONG!

Pour your Daquiri into the glass of your choosing and garnish with a lemon wheel to keep on turning away from stuff that isn’t yours (we would have made it lime, but don’t want you to get too green with envy!) and—finally, with a mint sprig to remember the work of creation, celebrated on Shabbat.

Decalogue Daiquiri (Boozey)
¾ cup Frozen Blueberries
1 tbsp Honey
½ oz Lime Juice
1.5 oz Light Rum
1 oz Lemonade
1 oz Water
6 Mint Leaves
½ cup Crushed Ice
1 Lemon Wheel (Garnish)
1 Mint Sprig (Garnish)

Decalogue Daiquiri (Not Boozey)

¾ cup Frozen Blueberries
1 tbsp Honey
½ oz Lime Juice
1.5 oz Light Rum
1 oz Lemonade
1 oz Water
6 Mint Leaves
½ cup Crushed Ice
1 Lemon Wheel (Garnish)
1 Mint Sprig (Garnish)

Put everything in a blender except the Lemon Wheel and Mint Sprig and blend until smooth. Garnish with the Lemon Wheel and Mint Sprig.

L’chayim!
